Looking for empathy, humanity and compassion in 2026.
Here is a mega collage from 2016, which foreshadows US authoritarian hegemony ten years on. Whereas military might was previously endowed with defense, we now feel the pressure of our government regulating the speech and activities of citizens on US soil. The historic playbook of fascist regimes is grooming our society to comply, defuse and remain obedient.
Ironically, this artwork had a predecessor PRESSURE DROP 1.0 created in the George W. Bush presidency, spotlighting military build-up and aggression in the early 00’s.
This second canvas 2.0 quadruples in size, and billboards the mania of an administration with fascist tendencies.
PRESSURE DROP is currently installed at the Calecalsika Gallery at Cannonball Arts in Seattle, Washington.

These artworks are painted collages. I work from lost and found photographs and utilize hand/eye method for observation. It def would be more efficient to use a projector, but that would reduce critical effort and gravitas. I take the long road - and I believe the results are compelling.
