This painting is 22 years old and was created post 9/11 as the USA was gunning for full scale invasions + WARS with IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN
Then 43rd President of the United States George W. Bush and his cabinet were salivating at the opportunity of an international conflict and broad scale testing of military technologies. My friends and I were in the streets of Seattle protesting these upcoming destructive and dehumanizing WARS. ///NOT IN MY NAME/// The death/injury toll of US soldiers AND Iraqi and Afghani citizens would be horrendous. TWO epic, destabilizing and expensive DISASTERS.

Why did 9/11 happen? Most likely a response to USA meddling in Middle East affairs; the duplicity of US military aid to Israel and the lack of compassion for Palestinian and Arab communities; the numerous US military bases in the Levant that have terrorized populations in order to keep the petroleum markets open, accessible and profitable.
The age old US Foreign policy phrase “we will spread democratic values (and) protect our national interests” i.e. Chevron, Texaco, mineral + precious metals + rubber acquisitions et al. We see this active hegemony today in 2024 as we fund and militarize Egypt, Turkey, Israel, Iraq, Kuwait, Pakistan and hot spots throughout Africa and greater Asia.
